Since the 10th of May 1994 when Nelson Mandela, was inaugurated as the President of the democratic Republic of South Africa, numerous gold,
silver and bronze medallions and coins were minted in honour of him. The gold coins in particular have become highly sort after items for many collectors and investors.
1 oz Gold coins with the Union Buildings in South Africa and South African Coat of Arms were minted in 1994 to commemorate the inauguration of former President Mandela. 1- And 5 oz bronz, silver and gold Nelson R Mandela medallions were minted in 1994. The obverse sides of the medallions depict the profile of former President Nelson Mandela. The reverse sides depict the Union Buildings in Pretoria.
1/10th Gold medallions were minted in 1995 which depict equal eduction in South Africa on the reverse sides and Nelson Mandela's profile on the obverse sides.
